About Dr. Laurie J. Larson
Laurie J. Larson, DVM, director of the Companion Animal Vaccines and Immuno-Diagnostics Service (CAVIDS) Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, began in her career in veterinary vaccinology 33 years ago after several years in private clinical practice. Dr. Larson enjoys providing titer testing and infectious disease consultation for veterinarians, dog breeders, pet owners and animal shelters. A unique service offered by the CAVIDS Lab is nomograph analysis of a breeding female’s antibody levels against canine parvovirus and distemper virus to allow vaccination timing to be tailored for an individual litter with earlier confirmation of immunity than would otherwise be possible.
