Best In Show Winner At Kennel Club Of Palm Springs Is A Samoyed Named 'Kegs'
Kicking off 2020 by winning Best in Show at the Kennel Club of Palm Springs Dog Show Jan. 5, a 3 ½-year-old male Samoyed named “Kegs” charmed his way to the top, outperforming 3,300 dogs.
Handled by Tara Schultz of Bonita, California, Multi- BIS/Multi-RBIS/Multi-BISS GCH Polar Mist Kick Up The Party captured attention with his showy, sweet temperament and beautiful movement. Breeder-owner Lynette Blue, of Bend, Oregon, says, “Kegs has it all – movement to die for, bone, coat, pigment, and an exceptionally loving temperament.” Co-owner Kathi Horton, of San Diego, fell in love with Kegs as a 6-month-old at the Samoyed Club of America National Specialty in 2016.
Blue finished Kegs to his Championship title from the Bred-By Exhibitor class, where he took all Majors at Samoyed Specialty shows, and then sent him to Denmark in 2018-2019 to be bred and won a Best in Show though shown sparingly. When Kegs returned to the U.S., he went to Horton and then began his Specials career with Schultz.
“He had the potential, and Tara has brought it all out,” Horton says. The happy Sammy is fed Purina Pro Plan SAVOR Shredded Blend Lamb & Rice Formula dog food.
