Purina and Parent Clubs Raise Funds for Canine Health Foundation

The Purina Parent Club Partnership Program has raised $3.08 million since 2002 to support canine health research funded by the AKC Canine Health Foundation. The partnership between Purina and national parent breed clubs is a collaborative effort that aims to help advance the health and well-being of dogs.


German Shorthaired Pointer ‘CJ’ Wins 2016 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

Taking his routine bow before beautifully floating around the ring, a liver-and-white-ticked German Shorthaired Pointer called “CJ” took the coveted honors at the 140th Annual Westminster Kennel Club (WKC) Dog Show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, becoming the 10th consecutive Westminster winner fueled by Purina Pro Plan brand dog food and completing a Pro Plan®-fed dog sweep.

BRIGHT MIND-Fed Cardigan Welsh Corgi Named ‘Libby’ Wins National Specialty Best of Breed

Showing her heart out for owner-handler Sherri Hurst of Houston at the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America (CWCCA) National Specialty May 14, “Libby,” an 8-year-old brindle bitch, moved effortlessly. With beautiful side gait, powerful reach and drive, and a perfectly level topline, Libby looked as though she could go on endlessly.


Kaylynn Williams – Featured Members Story, Sporting

Kaylynn Williams’ passion for Beagles began at a young age. Her grandfather, uncle and father have had an affinity for the breed for over 40 years. Now, at age 21, Kaylynn competes with her Purina® Pro Plan® fueled Beagles in an average of 30 to 40 field trial events each year. She also owns and operates KW Kennels near her home in Martinton, Illinois, and even runs a successful nationwide junior handler program.

Bob West

Bob West, Director of Sporting Field Operations for the Purina Professional Engagement Team, is passionate about sporting dogs and those who own and train them. He also walks the talk, having put more than 100 titles on sporting dogs over the past 40-plus years as a part-time professional trainer.

Ann Viklund, Director of Conformation for the Purina Professional Engagement Team, has contributed immensely to Purina’s support of the dog fancy. When Ann joined Purina in 1997 as a Field Promotions Representative, Purina was just beginning to partner with enthusiasts.


Candy Caciolo

Candy Caciolo is a Consultant to the Breeder Enthusiast Team. She managed Purina’s Veterinary Marketing Group including Purina Veterinary Diets®, the Breeder/Enthusiast Marketing Group and the Pet Welfare Group.
