FC-AFC Snowy River Sambo Smokin put on an excellent performance with six bird finds
in September to win the German Shorthair Pointer Club of America National Amateur
Gun Dog Championship in Grand River, Iowa. FC-AFC Snowy River Full Gauge ran in
all the right places and found five birds to earn Runner-Up Champion.
Grady
NAFC-FC Cody Cut A Lean Grade, LM, a 7-year-old black male Labrador Retriever, won
the National Amateur Championship Stake June 25 in Ronan, Mont., outperforming 111
of the top retrievers in the country. Handled by owner Chad Baker of Paddle Creek
Retrievers in Bristol, Tenn., "Grady" had several fine marks of over 300 yards during
10 series to win the championship. Grady, as well as 10 of the 15 Finalists, is
fueled by Pro Plan Performance Formula.
Braxton
A Stylish, 4-year old male English Pointer, Covey Rise Offlee Amazin', was named
the National Open Shooting Dog Champion in February after having three perfect finds
on quail in the 90-minute horseback stakes in Hoffman N.C. The title gave professional
handler Shawn Kinkelaar his first National Open Win.
Buster
A well-bred, 6-year-old male English Pointer, In the Shadow, sealed his National
Championship win early in the two-week championship stake by relentlessly running
strong and finding his 10th covey of quail with 30 seconds remaining. The event
was held in February at Ames Plantation in Grand Junction, Tenn.
Chance
NFC Adamsmark 2nd Chance showed a smooth consistent style to win the English Springer
Spaniel National Open Championship last December in Mayetta, Kan.
Clipper
The unflappable NAFC Beggar-bush Clipper won his second English Springer Spaniel
National Amateur Championship last December in Pinckneyville, Ill. The 4-year-old
white-and liver male springer was owner-handled by Bill Willet of Blair, Neb.
