A 5-year-old female Treeing Walker Coonhound called “Dot” captured the 33rd annual Purina Outstanding Nite Hunt Coonhound Award and also won the 2014 Purina National Championship, making history as the first hound to do so. Giving co-owner and handler Jody Jessup, of Rural Hall, North Carolina, his fifth Purina Award, GR NITE CH ‘PR’ Roses Stylish Dot clinched the award in October during the yearlong program. “It takes a special dog to do that,” says Jessup, who co-owns Dot with Larry Wishon and Kelley Branon, of Advance, North Carolina.
